GBM Recap

Hey Everyone,

If you weren’t able to make the GBM today, here is a quick summary. Please read the entire note so you don’t miss anything!

Team Info

We are composed of undergrads, grads, employees, men, and women. We have riders with varying skill and commitment levels so everyone is welcome. Whether racing or not, everyone is welcome!

Casual and Training Rides

Training rides are posted to the team listserv almost everyday. Anyone can show up and they are a a lot of fun. These are a great way to meet new people and get involved.

Road Racing

In the Spring, we compete in road races almost every weekend. These races emphasize sterngth, strategy, endurance, and teamwork. There are three types of races for each weekend: road race (longer with hills), Criterium (short and fast), and time trials (individual and team).

There are categories for all skill levels and we heavily subsidize racing.

Membership Dues

By paying membership dues, you are able to take advantage of many team benefits (subsidized clothing and racing, pro team deals, etc.). We accept cash or checks (made out to Penn Cycling). Dues for this year are below.

Graduate Students/Employees: $75
Undergraduates: $50

You can drop off dues to me by Friday, October 5th, on a ride that I’ve posted, the potluck at Garon’s, or at my apartment at 20 South 39th Street. Times are:

Saturday, the 29th. 2:00-3:30pm.
Sunday, the 30th. 8:00-11:00pm.

I’ll post more if necessary.
